Timeline

1951

Born in Oregon on May 13, 1951.

July 12, 1973

Lisa Michelle was born to Gail....her only child.

Open heart surgery

In February 1975 Gail had to go to Methodist Hospital in Houston, Tx. and had open heart surgery. Doctor Howell and the great Doctor Debakey repaired one valve, and replaced two. She wasn't supposed to make it. But she did, and lived FAR beyond what they ever thought she would. She truely was a walking miracle. The valves in Momma's heart ticked--out loud---like a clock. I was so fortunant. For all my life I could ALWAYS hear my Momma's heart beating.

When she was well.

After Gail got better, she sang in her own band. The Whiskey River Band. Gail was a very talented singer and song writer. She could write a song in 2 or 3 minutes. In 1976, she sang at The Great Vine Opry. At the time, she was the first one to EVER recieve a standing ovation. I think she deserves another. Momma, I can still hear you singing.

Tony (Dad)

On September 30,1983, Gail married Tony. The drummer from her own band. He was right there with Momma taking care of her for 22 years. She loved him very much. And he still loves her. Thank you Tony for taking care of her and loving her unconditionally.

Death of her Daddy

After a long battle of illness with Alzhiemers, Gail's Daddy passed away on Oct.6, 1989. She loved him very much and took it very hard. We miss you too Pa-Pa!

GRANDBABIES!

On March 4th, 1990...just 5 months after the death of her Daddy, Gail's first granddaughter was born. Ashley Rianna came into the world just in time to heal Momma's broken heart.
December 30, 1992, Monica Allan was born.
April 30, 1995 Valeri Michelle came.
August 28, 1996---Well, Here comes Lauren Gayle. Momma's namesake.
September 14, 1999, we welcomed Lacey Elizabeth into the world.
February 27, 2002, yep, you guessed it...another! But this time a BOY! Matthew Blake came to be. Momma was so excited. Finally, a GRANDSON!
Then........................

Hannah Grace

On May 12, 2005...the day before Momma's 54th birthday, Hannah was born. Gail was very sick and had been in and out of the hospital A LOT. She had lost her hearing not long before, so Momma talked a little loud. :) She would put both her hands on my big ol' belly and say "Nani loves that baby!" And Hannah would just start moving all around. That tickled Momma so. On May 23rd, just 2 weeks after Hannah was born, Momma walked out my door for the last time.
But she waited for Hannah to come. I'll never let the kids forget you, and Hannah WILL know who you are.

2005

With the one who brought her into the world holding her right hand, and the one She brought into the world holding her left hand; Gail went to be with Jesus on May 25, 2005 at the age of 54.

But her legacy lives on in the life of her only child, Lisa, and her grandchildren. She will be forever missed.
